Sitting in an armless office chair does take some getting used to and may take a few weeks to get completely comfortable. If you are considering making the switch but are still unsure if you will be happy with a new armless office chair, contemplate taking your arms off your current chair to test out the feeling. This will provide you with a free determinant for your decision to purchase a new armless chair by eliminating the possibility of having to return a chair because you are uncomfortable with the absence of arms.
If you are hesitant to purchase a chair without arms for the first time rest assured that most chairs allow for the flexibility to remove the armrests at your convenience at a later point in time. Most office chairs purchased through internet dealers are shipped unassembled allowing you to decide if you need the armrests during the process of assembly. If you do choose to install your armrests and find at a later date that you would prefer to sit in an armless office chair, the arms can easily be taken off giving you ultimate flexibility. The only time it is impossible to remove the arms on an office chair is if the arms are part of the chair’s structure and overall design, which is a rare feature.
By this time, the president of the Park Commission George C. Clausen was figuratively tearing the hair from his own head. Having first said he could do nothing about the situation without the permission of the rest of the Park Commission, Clausen then reversed himself and said since he was the one who had confirmed Spate’s contract, he could also revoke Spate’s contract with New York City. Spate quickly answered by by getting a court injunction ”restraining Mr. Clausen and the Park Commission from interfering with his valid contract with the City of New York.”
A good office chair is durable, You can consider a work chair a great investment because you will be using it for a long time so do not settle on cheap chairs. It is much practical to spend a little more amount of money on a chair that is guaranteed to last for another decade than to supposedly ’save” money and opt to buy the cheapest chair in the market that won’t even see the next year.
With the city in a heat-related frenzy, harried people hurried to the city’s parks, which were now ordered by the Park Commission to stay open all night. When people arrived at the parks, they discovered that many of the free benches were no longer there, and the ones that were still present in the parks had been moved into the sun, making them too hot to sit on. However, Spate’s green chairs were sitting nicely in the shade, making them more attractive to the people fighting the stifling heat.
As I reflected on this pastor’s statement, a couple of thoughts came to my mind. One is that his statement was a very personal one that indicated a preference that was important to him and was a value I needed to honor. An additional thought though was about what actually makes a chair a ”church chair”. Here is an expansion on those thoughts with three observations as to what really is needed for a chair to be labeled a ”church chair”.
